So How'd You Get That Shot? "Horsetail Falls 3"

In this series on how to get dramatic images, I continue with another version of Horsetail Falls in Yosemite. Last Wednesday I was in Yosemite National Park with friends Bill Langton and Stephen Lau trying for another fabulous shot of the falls.
Although there wasn't much water coming over the falls , there was enough to make the face of El Capitan wet and shinny.  As the sun set we were treated (I should say teased) to a slight amount of color on the falls. It lasted momentarily and was gone. Clouds had formed to the west and obliterated the sunset needed to "light" up the falls. I decided to process this photo in black and white. So yet another version of the falls.....when you're given lemons why not make lemonade? To see a larger version without the copyright logo click here Horsetail Falls 3
That said - it is always a fantastic experience to witness this natural phenomenon.
Until next time - happy shootin'
